Daniel J. Smith, Attorney at Law
Daniel graduated magna cum laude from West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he received a degree in Political Science. He then attended Seattle University Law School for his law degree.
During November 2000, Daniel was admitted to practice in the State of Washington and has remained practicing law for the subsequent years, all of which in the greater Seattle area.
Daniel is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the United States Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal.
During law school Daniel concentrated his studies on subjects that led to his interest in international law matters, such as immigration and environmental law. Daniel was also active in the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Environmental Law Society, and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for excellent achievement in the study of international environmental law.
Lena E. Barouh, Attorney at Law
Lena Barouh graduated from Colby College in 2007 with a degree in History. She earned her law degree at the University of Kentucky College of Law in in 2015, where she served as a member of the Diversity Committee and earned a CALI award in Copyright. She spent her final two quarters as a visiting student at the University of Washington School of Law.
Lena was admitted to the Washington State Bar in May of 2016. She is a member of the Latino/a Bar Association of Washington and the Cardozo Society of Washington State.
During law school, Lena’s coursework focused on Constitutional and criminal law, with a special emphasis on social justice and personal liberties. This background, as well as her personal commitment to improving access to justice for all Washingtonians, led her to a career in client-focused areas of practice, including immigration, criminal defense, landlord/tenant, and family law. She is proud to offer pro bono assistance to asylum-seekers through the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
Million F. Lenjiso, LLM
Million Lenjiso distinguished himself academically at the University of Washington where he was awarded a full scholarship to pursue his Master’s Degree in Law (LLM), which he received in 2012.
Million Lenjiso is a case manager at the Law Office of Daniel J. Smith. He was born and raised in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. He attended Haramaya University where he was awarded a Bachelor in Laws (LLB). While attending Haramaya University, he was active in several extracurricular activities and he represented the university and his country both nationally and internationally. Of note is his work in the area of environmental and health law. He participated in the 2010 Copenhagen Competition in Denmark, and D.M. Harish International Moot Court in India. As a result, he has significant experience in both domestic and international law.
Prior to joining the Law Office of Daniel J. Smith he worked with James Bible Law Group as a legal intern and Oshan & Associates as a legal assistant. Million is fluent in Oromo, Amharic, and English, and is a great asset to our firm.
